What's for Dinner?

Got some green beans & purple peppers from our vegetable garden. One of my husband's favorite is Thai Basil stir - fry so it was a no brainer dinner plan!

About the purple peppers: It was a mistake, we have been waiting for some green peppers, after tossing =( a few i thought sick (purple) peppers... i realized we must have took the wrong plant...

Anyways, i think i'm loving this accidental mistake!

I think they are crunchier than green pepper & it makes the dish prettier! I also cut half a yellow onion, a carrot & a few skinless & boneless chicken thighs (roughly same size as vegetables)

Here is the star of this dish:

 Thai Basil!

I used the mortar to crush together a few cloves of garlic & one red chili.

Please don't substitute it with regular italian basil! Go to your local asian markets, they always have it! You can definitely play around & change up the vegetables or even make it with Tofu!

I personally think the Thai Basil has more of a licorish taste & gives a stronger flavors to the dish.
Some oil, fish sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce & salt n pepper later... you get one of the most popular & delicious Thai dish!

Serve it with some steamed Jasmine Rice.

In Thailand they would add an fried egg on top, it instantly becomes the ultimate comfort food!
